chutag beta

Lost items · pets · kids' belongings

The tag that keeps quiet about you.

A QR code on your dog's collar, your keys, your phone or your daughter's pencil case. Whoever finds it reaches you in one scan — without ever seeing your number or your address.

  • No app to install, for you or for the finder
  • 2 free tags for life, stickers you print at home
  • Data hosted in Europe, never sold

How it works

  1. 1

    You create a tag

A name (“Max”, “Gilles' iPhone”, “Léa's pencil case”), a short note for whoever finds it. Thirty seconds, no app.

  2. 2

You stick, engrave or display the QR

A sheet of stickers to print, an image to engrave on a pet tag, or a lock-screen wallpaper for your phone.

  3. 3

    Someone scans, you get notified

They leave you a message (and their location if they want). You chat through Chutag. Neither of you sees the other's number.

What it looks like in real life

Three situations Chutag is built for. The names are made up, the situations are not.

Max ran off during the storm

A neighbour finds him soaked under a bus shelter, scans the tag, writes “He's with me, warm and dry, on Lime Tree Street”. His owner sees the spot on the map and picks him up ten minutes later. The neighbour never got her number. Neither did she get his.

The iPhone left on the train seat

Battery at 12 %, locked, no way to call anyone. But on the lock screen, a QR code. The conductor scans it, types “Dropped it at the Namur ticket desk”. No sticker, no app: just a wallpaper generated by Chutag.

Léa's pencil case, found at the pool

No name on it, or the whole pool would know who Léa is and which school she goes to. Just a Chutag sticker. The lifeguard scans it, and her parents know where to pick it up. Same for the water bottle, the jacket, the schoolbag: one sheet of stickers, printed in two minutes.

Why Chutag rather than a name and a phone number?

Your number is nowhere

A number engraved on a tag is your number in anyone's hands. Chutag relays the messages: you answer from your account, your email and phone stay with you.

It works without an app

The finder opens the camera, scans, writes. That's it. No sign-up, no download: a finder in a hurry never does more than that.

No battery, no range

An AirTag is expensive, runs out of battery and doesn't go on a pencil case. A QR code costs nothing and still works in ten years.

Hosted in Europe

Your data stays in Europe, on our own servers, with no resale and no ads. Delete a tag, or your whole account, whenever you want.

Two free tags, for life.

One for the dog, one for the phone. All you need is an email address.
